What texts are you studying?

As a bit of an ice-breaker, I thought I would ask you all to reply and let me know what texts you're studying at school!

Hafsa H.

The Lonely Londeners & Heart of Darkness

Sweat & Measure for Measure

Rossetti and Poetry of the decade

Shani C.

Hafsa Hussein That's a good set of texts! I'm doing Lonely Londoners and Rossetti with the students at my school as well! What's your favourite so far?

Grace I.

Dracula and the bloody chamber

Measure for measure

Rosetti and a dolls house

Just to note I do OCR A level English?

Shani C.

Grace Ige Ahh those sound great! Which is your favourite at the moment? I'm doing OCR and Rossetti with my class, too! But we're doing the Immigrant Experience for Paper 2 rather than the Gothic

Grace I.

My favourite right now would probably be adh and just to note I haven’t actually covered much of rosetti yet

Grace I.

If you have any tips to help boost my grade I would really appreciate them

Shani C.

Grace Ige Yes! I have plenty of tips! Do you know what your teachers say you struggle with the most? That's always the best start!

Shani C.

Grace Ige If you let me know what feedback you've been given so far, I can make sure I give you the best advice!

Pati P.

Paper 1: Othello, Death of a Salesman and Keats

Paper 2: Harvest, Handmaids Tale and Blake.

Shani C.

Pati Posan Ooh I love The Handmaid's Tale! How are you finding it?

Pati P.

Shani C. I really like Handmaids Tale, we've only just started it in class, but I've read it in the past before.

Shani C.

Pati P. I recommend watching the TV show! It's got some great AO5 in terms of what they emphasised in a more modern adaptation. Maybe I should start a thread on here about it?

Ruby F.

Paper 1: Othello, Richard II, The Great Gatsby

Paper 2: Atonement, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

Shani C.

Ruby F. That's a really big historical spread! What's been your favourite so far?
