Clarity in English literature ocr comparative
Hi I really need an A in English literature, and constant feedback I get is ‘clarity in my arguments’ and trying to do too many ideas at once, idk how to correct this whilst also meeting the A03/A05 criteria. For reference I do Paradise Lost and the Duchess of Malfi

It sounds like me like you haven't nailed down a single thesis! Your essays should be about one central idea that your texts have in common, related to the question. You're not trying to tell the examiner everything you know about the themes! You're trying to say,
Isn't it interesting that even though these two texts are from different places/times/cultures/countries, they still say the same thing about...?
The examiner isn't trying to test you on how much you know! So instead, your answers should be about proving that much smaller thing. I gave the example for 'Powerful emotions are often the excuse for unacceptable behaviour' once!
Rather than making an essay about all the different kinds of powerful emotions and all the different kinds of unacceptable behaviour, I decided that my central thesis was that both texts share the same message: people try to use powerful emotions as an excuse, but that doesn't mean it's a good one!
