English A-level Essay Feedback
Get feedback on your typed A-level English essays to help you understand exactly what you can do to improve.
Getting feedback for your A-level English essays can be really difficult.
Sometimes, teachers are too vague or brief in their comments. Others, they don’t have time to mark as regularly as you need. Then, there are those times where you’re struggling to understand their comments and need someone to explain it in a different way!
And, of course, there are the private or distance learning students out there who don’t have a regular expert teacher to give them the feedback they need.
It’s no wonder students feel so much anxiety about getting their essays marked! It really can be a nightmare! But writing regular essays and getting someone to look through them is one of the most effective ways to improve your grades – as long as you do your part by responding to the feedback and using it to inform how you write your next essays, of course!
That’s why we offer essay marking and feedback on all A-level English essays, including:
- Regular exam essays
- Comparative NEAs (coursework)
- Single-text NEAs (coursework)
- Creative writing NEAs with commentaries (coursework)
You send your typed essays in to Shani Cipro, an experienced, qualified teacher with 10 years of tutoring experience getting the top grades in A-level English. Then, within 5 business days, we will send your essay back in a Google Doc, full of comments highlighting what you did well and how you can improve. We’ll also give you working-at grades based on the assessment objectives and our criteria for successful essay writing.

How does the essay feedback service work?
When your payment goes through, you should receive a notification about a support ticket. This will come through both on our emails and through your Shani’s Tutoring Account. That’s where we’ll ask you to submit your essay to us.
Once you’ve sent that over, we aim to have your essay marked and back to you within 5 business days
Currently, we can only offer feedback on typed essays. If you are giving us an essay you wrote in exam conditions, please type it up before you submit.
What do the different prices mean?
Who is marking my essay?
What exam boards do you give essay feedback for?
Do you do essay feedback for handwritten essays?
We are currently unable to accept handwritten essays. This is because handwriting legibility varies between students, and we can’t guarantee that we will be able to read everything that each student has written. Also, file compression can occasionally mean that handwriting in JPEG and PNG images becomes blurry, which can cause additional issues when reading handwriting.
We pride ourselves on providing high-quality services at all times. Only accepting typed essays is one of the many ways that we can consistently meet the high standards that our students expect of us.
So, for the moment, if you would like essay feedback on your written A-level English essays, we would need you to type them out into a document for us. This allows us to ensure a fast delivery of your feedback without too much back-and-forth, so that we can meet the 5 business day objective.
We recommend you see typing up your essays as an opportunity to redraft and take care of errors that you can easily fix without our help. That means that we can dedicate much more of your feedback time and energy on giving you real advice that you didn’t know you needed. That will help to get as much value out of this service as possible.
However, we so understand that there is great value in writing handwritten essays to prepare for the exams – especially if you are not entitled to type as an access arrangement. Therefore, we will continue to review our policies and consider ways that we can expand our services to handwritten essays in the future.
