A Little About Me

I realised I had a passion for tutoring between 2013 and 2015, when I was studying my A-levels in English, History, Drama and Media Studies at The Latymer School. There, I volunteered to be a student librarian during my lunch and began to help others with their studies from my home. This was extremely rewarding, as it helped me to work with students who were struggling to unlock their full potential.

Then, I began my History M.A. at the University of Glasgow. In September of 2015, I discovered the online platform, MyTutor.

I quickly rose up their ranks to become a Premium Tutor and was one of the first tutors privileged to try their now-famous Schools Scheme. With my 4.9-star rating and over 170 lessons under my belt, I realised I wanted to pursue tutoring full time.

So, after completing my History M.A. in June 2021, I enrolled on a PGCE course to teach English to secondary school students. Now, I am teaching English, EPQ and Storytelling at a sixth form college in Central London.

I also chose to dedicate myself to a Trinity CertTESOL qualification in my free time. Having already completed a certificate with TEFL.org to teach English as a second language, I wanted to ensure that I would become a grammar expert and help to deliver quality English lessons all around the world.

With my 6+ years of experience, I have been lucky enough to help students of all ages, needs and abilities. On one hand, I have worked with a 5-year-old girl on phonics and reading skills. On the other, I have helped adults from all over the world to improve their business English skills.

Tutoring is my passion. My aim is to help as many students as I can all around the world.

It is my goal to make all my resources available at an affordable price. I want to make sure that I can help as many students as possible! So, I created Shani’s Tutoring to give students a place where they can sort through all this great stuff and find exactly what they need.

If you find any of my resources helpful, there are two things you can do to get your hands on them:

1. You can go over to my shop and purchase anything that tickles your fancy.
2. Join a membership tier and get access to every worksheet I release.

On the other hand, if you want to get access to tutoring classes with me, I can help! I offer both online and face-to-face tutoring. Plus, you also get a choice of group or one-to-one sessions! It’s all up to you! You can either book a session on my calendar or contact me for more details.

My Mission, Vision and Values

Some students can get left behind in a traditional school setting. Others want to push themselves to new heights and do as well as they can! Then, there are students who just don’t feel confident and need someone to help them realise their strengths.

You might be a social learner who likes to talk about the text you’re reading. Or, you could be an independent learner who likes to figure out things for yourself. Maybe you’re somewhere in the middle! Whatever kind of learner you are, whatever your unique struggles, I want to help you. That is my main purpose for creating Shani’s Tutoring.
