When it comes to tutoring, I have a wealth of experience and qualifications, which means you can trust I am giving value to your grades. These are:

  • TEFL qualification.
  • Experience tutoring both online and in person since 2015.

So, you can be sure that you’re getting a great deal of value here on Shani’s Tutoring!

Grades

Can you guarantee me an A/A* or 8/9?

In my courses, I provide all the most important information you need to get an 8/9 at GCSE or an A/A* at A-level. In fact, I go above and beyond with the information and skills so that your exams will be easier for you! So, if you pay attention and keep going through my courses, you’ll see a huge improvement in your grades.

However, there is no such thing as a “guarantee” of an A* or 9. So much of it is down to what you do. As the saying goes, “You can take a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”. I give you all the materials and advice you need. It’s your job to take it! Plus, it’s your job to ensure you take any feedback you get and make changes to your future work.

I think that every student is capable of a 9 at GCSE and an A* at A-level. It just takes more hard work for some people than it does for others. If you’re someone who needs to work a little bit harder, you’ve got to make sure you’re doing that for yourself.

So, I can’t guarantee you a 9 or an A*. However, I can say that when you combine my courses with hard work, you’ll keep getting better and better.

Subjects and Levels

What subjects do you have courses in?

As an English and history teacher, most of my courses are in those subjects. However, I will be branching out and partnering with other amazing teachers in the future to increase the number of subjects I teach. At the moment, I can offer you courses in the following:

Learning

How do you make sure I’m learning effectively in your courses?

I use a few different methods to make sure your learning is effective in my courses:

  • Chunking and sequencing learning: I deliver each lesson in a short, bite-sized chunk and each course builds on the last. This allows me to make sure you’ve understood one idea before we move on to the next. For example, Grammar 102 builds on Grammar 101 in short, manageable lessons.
  • Regular quizzes: Quizzes are an important part of online learning. They help you to get a good idea of how much content you’ve understood. Plus, they also give you a great chance to recall your prior knowledge. That’s because the more times you use old knowledge, the easier it will. before you to remember it on the exam day! For more information, check out my blog post on why you forget revision.
  • Social learning: my classes offer social learning functions, such as forums and a leaderboard. This means you can ask questions, engage with other learners just like you, and compete to be the best.

There are plenty of other ways I make sure that you are learning as effectively as possible! If you want to know more about that, check out my blog for more details on how we learn!

Essays

Do you offer essay feedback?

Because the Shani’s Tutoring website is so interactive, there are plenty of changes for you to get feedback from me. I build feedback opportunities into the assignments of some of my courses. Plus, I am also available on the forums of the classes. So, I might be able to look at small extracts of essays and give advice there.

However, please be aware that the classes might get quite big. That’s great for encouraging you to learn! It does mean that I might not be able to respond to every request for feedback, though. Plus, even if I can look at your work, my feedback will be quite brief.

To make sure everyone gets as much feedback as possible, I am looking into ways to teach you how to help yourself and each other. My courses include success criteria whenever I think you need them. You can get points for reading and advising other students. I will also be able to hire more tutors to help me out as time goes on.

In the meantime, though, I do offer a paid tutoring service for full essays. If you’re really keen to get more info on how you can improve, you can check that out on my shop!

Billing and Refunds

Do you offer refunds?

Due to the nature of my website, there are very few things I can offer a refund on without it opening me up to scams. It would be too easy for someone to download a resource and then ask for one once they’ve got the resource they want! I’m an independent tutor, so this would impact me massively.

However, I might be able to offer a refund for a course in some rare occasions.

If you accidentally purchased a course that you didn’t mean to, please reach out to me immediately. As long as you haven’t started working through the lessons, I’m sure I can work something out.

Please note: I have logs to see who has accessed courses and classes. So, I will check these before coming to my decision on whether you are eligible for a refund. If you’ve used your purchase already, a refund is not possible.

Do you accept PayPal?

I accept PayPal and Stripe on all my courses and classes. So, you can be sure that your purchase is safe and legitimate! You can also use Apple or Google Pay to make any purchases on my site.
